WHAT TO EXPECT WITH FREIGHT DELIVERY (FOR LARGE ORDERS)
Certain products sold by Sky Camp Supply ship via freight (LTL) due to their size, weight, or handling requirements. This page explains how freight delivery works so you know exactly what to expect before your order ships.
What is Freight (LTL) Delivery?
Freight, or Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) delivery, is used for oversized or heavy items that cannot ship via standard parcel carriers. These items typically ship on pallets and are transported by specialized freight carriers.
Freight shipping is common for products such as outdoor structures, saunas, cold plunges, and other large-format equipment.
Delivery Method: Curbside Delivery
Freight deliveries are curbside only. This means the carrier will deliver your shipment to the curb, driveway, or nearest accessible point to your property.
Freight carriers do not provide:
-
Inside placement
-
Unpacking
-
Debris removal
-
Assembly or installation
Unless explicitly stated on the product page, these services are not included.
Delivery Appointments
All residential freight deliveries require a delivery appointment.
After your order ships, the freight carrier will contact you using the phone number provided at checkout to schedule a delivery date and time window. Someone 18 years or older must be present to accept delivery.
Estimated delivery dates shown at checkout are not guaranteed for freight shipments due to appointment scheduling requirements. Please wait for the carrier to confirm your appointment before making arrangements to receive your delivery.
Liftgate Service
Some freight shipments include liftgate service, which allows the driver to lower the palletized item from the truck to the ground.
Liftgate availability depends on the carrier, shipment, and destination. Liftgate service does not include moving the item beyond curbside delivery.
Access & Location Considerations
Freight carriers require access for a delivery truck, typically a semi-truck and trailer.
Remote, limited-access, or carrier-restricted locations may require terminal pickup or additional carrier coordination. In some cases, additional carrier fees may apply. If applicable, this will be communicated prior to delivery whenever possible.
Inspection at Delivery (Very Important)
You are responsible for inspecting your freight shipment at the time of delivery.
Before signing the carrier’s Proof of Delivery (POD):
-
Inspect the exterior packaging for visible damage
-
Unpack the item in the driver’s presence whenever possible
-
Note any damage clearly on the POD
-
Take photos of any damage or concerns
If significant damage is observed, refusal of delivery is often recommended. Damage not noted on the POD may limit available remedies. By signing the POD without notation, you accept the shipment in its delivered condition.
