How to Turn Your Backyard into an Airbnb-Ready Escape

Create Your Own Backyard Glamping Haven

Backyard glamping is a different story than just throwing up a tent. It's about turning your yard into a space that's actually inviting. For me it's all about finding a sense of ease and comfort feeling connected to nature and maybe even discovering a magic. All just a short walk from your own house.

Want to turn your backyard into the escape? I'm talking a place where you can relax and unwind in style. Here's how to create your own glamping haven. A dreamy little hideaway that's all yours.

Start With a Structure That Inspires

Imagine your campsite but instead of some piece of fabric you've got a tent that looks like it was designed by an architect. That's where you should start. A sturdy beautiful tent that feels like a home, than a makeshift shelter. It's the foundation of a camping experience.

Forget those old tents from your childhood camping trips. A real glamping experience starts with a structure. I'm talking about tents with some style like those beautiful canvas yurts with soft curvy lines... Stargazer domes, with clear panels that let you see the stars twinkling above. And then there are those heritage teepees. They've got a worn classic charm that's just perfect.

At SKY CAMP SUPPLY we've put together a collection of luxury tents that actually feel like they were made with some thought. Our Glamp Luxe Collection isn't about pitching a basic tent. These things are more like little getaways. They're not somewhere to crash, they're the whole point of the trip.

Create Comfort, Not Just Shelter

This isn't about roughing it. Imagine a space with rugs on the floor and layers of textured fabrics, like linen, fleece and wool piled on a comfy futon or a simple cot. You could even just use a mattress on a pallet. Throw in some soft cushions and a low table for your books or a cup of tea. If you're feeling brave and using the space during the off season you might want to add a heater to keep things snug.

Define Your Space

A backyard hideaway can be an escape, whether you use it for morning yoga as a guest room, for friends and family or just as a quiet spot to enjoy a glass of wine and write in your journal. To make it truly special it needs to serve a purpose and feel cozy and protected from the world. That's what makes it feel like your little sanctuary.

To define your campsite try using fencing, plants or outdoor screens to create a boundary around your tent. If you want to get fancy you could even add some signs. We think it's a great way to add some personality to your space.

Make It Uniquely Yours

Make it your own. Put your stamp on it. Give it some character make it unique and reflect your personality. The goal is to have something that feels like it belongs to you.

The thing I love about glamping is that no two setups are ever the same. It's all about making it your own. Want to add some personality to your tent? Throw up a wall mirror or set up a record player in the corner. You could even bring a telescope to stargaze at night or use a milk crate as a quirky nightstand.

The point is, your glamping spot should feel as much like you as your bedroom does back home.
